Oblivious obvious (Choleric) is the first installment in four part series discussing the four human temperaments: the choleric, melancholic, sanguine and phlegmatic. this ancient way of classifying personalities is said to have been invented by hippocrates and is still used to this day in some variation or other. (eg. the meyrs briggs test used widely by employers to select the right kind of personalities to create well working teams of employees) "choleric corresponds to the fluid of bile, the season of summer(dry and hot), and the element of fire, the time of day noon. A person who is choleric is a doer and a leader. They have a lot of ambition, energy, and passion, and try to instill it in others. Many great charismatic military and political figures were cholerics. On the negative side, they are easily angered or badtempered. A person described as "bilious" is mean-spirited, suspicious, and angry. The disease cholera gained its name from choler (bile)." |
